I personally wouldn't live in a rental

As a londoner in 2005, looking at having to take a 500000 mortgage in our mid 40s, so we could live the life we wanted, was bloody scary

So very scary that we moved to NI instead and became mortgage free

Our lives are so very different, no longer do I have the high powered job with the gilt edged triple locked pension, but we are both so much happier working just a few days a week to keep us in beer and entertainment tokens

Its worth looking further afield if you don't have ties to any particular area

You know, one thing that seems a little unfair is ....

£600K London £1K/year Council Tax

£600K Oxon or Glos £2.5K/year Council Tax

All based on two people living at the property: same number of bins to be emptied each week.
