Suppositories

I find, much to my embarrassment, having to use these on occasion.

I alternate between diarrhoea and constipation...I realise partly this is due to the medication I'm on but I wish I could become more regular. In hospital I soiled my bed (mostly the first few nights) and it's horrible.

Perhaps it's just a result of growing older?

I do eat plenty of fibre and try and eat regular meals but it's not easy. Have you ever had to use a suppository?

Re: Suppositories

only when I had horrendous piles, they did the trick.

I've had 'accidents' in my time, no shame there lad, we all do at one time or another in our lives. Don't feel so bad about it.

Love this forum, where we can all discuss and support each other through what we might perceive as embarrassing problems.

Re: Suppositories

I was prescribed suppositories when I was ill, I had diverticulitis, probably the worst thing I could have been given, the doctor was useless, fortunately the next doctor I saw, the next day, probably saved my life,,

Re: Suppositories

Only had suppositories once - to empty me out before major surgery. Not an experience I would care to repeat!

Re: Suppositories

Hi

They are a fact of life, get over it.

Some medicines are best absorbed in this way.

We all poo every day, what is there to be worried about?

If we did not poo we would die.

I assume you have all used either rubber or plastic gloves - otherwise it's called deviant behavior?? just passing through?

Re: Suppositories

My parent's neighbour died trying to poo!
Glycerol (glycerin) suppositories bring relief in minutes

When I was a dispenser an old lady complained her suppositories weren't working, it turned out she was not removing the plastic covering. Poor soul
