I don't doubt that it is a scary situation Muddy, it is how they deal with it that I think is wrong.
If they are drunk when they get on the train, perhaps they should stop them from travelling. Maybe they would then learn that nobody likes people who are drunk, especially when they have to see if a taxi is prepared to take them home!
If people really want to drink a lot on the train, they could use a coke bottle (where half was vodka) & I am sure they don't test every soft drink.
It is those who drink too much that are at fault, so why stop somebody from having 1 drink & isn't going to cause trouble?
I think it is wrong to restrict decent people from doing things, just because some idiots don't understand that what they do is offensive!
They will be expecting women to wear chastity belts, to avoid being raped next!
BTW, I dont like Diane Abbot but I do think it is wrong that she can't have a small cocktail just because others think is ok to behave like drunken fools!
