Found it on Wiki. If you look at the attachment, you will see that the Paris meridian is a couple of degrees east of Greenwich, which means that, at 12:00 noon, the actual time in Paris is closer to 12:20 or 12:30 and not 13:00, which is Central European Time (run from Paris).
Just one more reason why the Frogs resent us!
Although countries all over the world use their own local time standards, the vast majority are either one or more hours in front of, or behind GMT.
No-one is going to take any notice of a new, Paris-based meridian and move their times on by 20 or 30 minutes!
The Frogs just can't accept that when GMT was adopted as an international standard, we (not they) were effectively the centre of the world.
Oh, how they hate us for it!
