They still use their own standards, much like the british do. There is not that much difference between a brit and a frog.

I think you'll find that most industries, research laboratories, etc will use ISO/EN, ASTM, BSI or JIS standards these days. In any case, each and every one of these are cut and paste jobs of the others so, it matters not one jot which one you refer to, they all say the same things.

So in your opinion there is no real objective to the UK accepting the EU standards, since they all say the same thing?

There's no point in accepting EU standards as most are worse than ours and the rest are pointless.

Yes, that's your opinion. However, I politely asked percy's opinion. His might differ from yours, or do the two of you speak for each other?

You're not leaving percy any room to disagree with you.

Just one more reason why the Frogs resent us!

Although countries all over the world use their own local time standards, the vast majority are either one or more hours in front of, or behind GMT.

No-one is going to take any notice of a new, Paris-based meridian and move their times on by 20 or 30 minutes!

The Frogs just can't accept that when GMT was adopted as an international standard, we (not they) were effectively the centre of the world.

Oh, how they hate us for it!
