Breaking news!

Take Heed everyone!

Just found out that as of midnight, Monday 8th January 2019, all cameras on the M1 and M25 went live, set at 72 Miles Per Hour. Auto ticket generating system with 6 penalty points.

Watch your speed and please tell everyone else. Any speed over 90 MPH is instant ban!! and possible court and custodial sentence.

And there was me thinking you had smashed a mirror.

And would now have seven years bad luck.

Re: Breaking news!

A friend posted this news on Facebook the other day. Luckily not a road I use. But I used to go on there many years ago and I thought that even then they had cameras adjusted to the variable speed limits.

Oh, but we must make allowances. Let's not be greedy and complain.
They've got to raise money somehow to pay for MPs' and civil servants' pay rises and gold plated pensions.

Unless you are a Royal or a ''celeb''of course, then you can drive as fast as you like.

What's new about this?

The cameras have been there for years. Were they previously set differently?

The only bit that seems different is the instant ban at over 90mph. I believe it used to be over 100mph.

That's why cruise control is so useful on long motorway journeys.
