Neanderthals
For anyone interested in pre-history, there is a good two-part documentary starting tonight on BBC4 at 8pm."Neanderthals - Meet Your Ancestors".
I saw this a few years ago on BBC2 and it is well worth viewing.
The Neanderthals were the original occupants of Europe, and it was previously thought that when Homo Sapiens moved into Europe from Africa, the Neanderthals were overrun, defeated and wiped out.
It seems that, contrary to that popular belief, there was a good degree of integration, and the Neanderthal gene lives on in us!
Far from being the lumbering dolts that they were made out to be, it seems they had a number of characteristics that did us well to inherit!
So, tonight and next Thursday, BBC4 at 8pm.

Not entirely, - the Neanderthals are alive and kicking inside the scumbag 'nasty party'.
