1 GB is enough if you don't plan to watch films or videos when you are not in range of your own wifi. You can set your phone to remind you if you are getting close to your limit and even then, you can ring the supplier and add a top up for that month. The only time I have had to do this is when my Home internet was down, so I was using Samsung internet via Tesco mobile.
Absolutely agree, I get 30Gb, at the end of the month there is usually 29.3Gb left, it really annoys me but that's what I get with my plan (I need the unlimited overseas calls)
The only time it really comes in handy is when I am travelling but even then i might only use a gig or two more.
Ironically this month they gave me an extra 15Gb because it is my birthday so at the end of this month I will have 44.3 Gb left
