Re: Really Old Songs.

My Mother went to the Televised City of Varieties in Leeds were you had to dress up in old fashioned clothing. They sang all the old time music hall songs. My Mother use to sing a lot of the old songs and loved singing and learning them... Burlington Bertie, Roll out the Barrel, Daisy Daisy, My old man said follow the van..

The song that i tend to sing a lot of was from school when i was in the juniors was.... Oh no John! I wonder why it's stands out so prominent in my mind?

What is that Had to laugh as I am a bit older than most on here but I have never heard of yours Patsy or Alans.
My youngest recollection is Eddie Fisher singing Cindy Oh Cindy and another - I'm a lonely little Petunia in an Onion Patch. Don't know who sang that hit

Indeed I do Alan, only today I was singing "The little Shirt me Mother made for me" My Mother always had the radio on when we were kids so I know a few oldies that even the wife never heard of, and she's a bit older than meself.

"I'm shy Mary Ellen" Patsy we used to sing that as "I'm shy Hairy Melon, I'm shy"
