It looks like a Greggs pasty to me,
I would re-bag it and add some compost for next year -far too late to use this year.

Hi James

Welcome to the forum. It's a shame your very first post is talking cr@p

Do you mean add compost to the pasty (I mean manure) and re-bag it. That would be good actually because the bag it's in is too wide to go behind the shed. And yes, I think it needs to rot down quite a lot first. I had a look yesterday and it hasn't really changed much.

Lovely stuff LD when it is like that I dig a trench and bury it then leave it a few months and it will have rotted down nicely and will mix in with the soil .

I imagine that works well Meg, unfortunately I don't have enough garden for that.

I suppose I could mix it with some soil or compost before re-bagging it.

You don't need much garden LD dig a deep hole

Not sure about watering, it should break down anyway
