She was a wonderful talent.
Just to be a little contentious, as with the king of soul there were a few nominations for the Queen.
I am personally torn between Aretha and Carla Thomas.
In either event a tragic loss.

Perhaps I need to listen to a few of her songs to try and appreciate them more. Her music did nothing for me personally, just muzak on the radio. There have been choirs singing her songs on the BBC this morning and no doubt it will go on for days or weeks.

I am sorry that she died and suffered illness but the BBC is going overboard.
