Axemen

Just been watching a YouTube video about Dave Gilmour and Hank Marvin celebrating the Fender Stratocaster. Unfortunately they only performed on the stage separately and didn’t appear or play together!

Re: Axemen

Hank Marvin was my inspiration when I was young. It was because of him I bought my first guitar (an old classical) and practised playing 'walk don't run'

Marvin and Gilmour together would have been an interesting mix but brilliant no less.

Re: Axemen

Yes indeed. They had the same backing musicians but just didn’t appear on the stage together.

Re: Axemen

I have a video called "The Strat Pack" which was from a concert that took place about 15 years ago. Both Hank Marvin and David Gilmour played that night, amongst other guiatr and vocal greats such as The Crickets, Paul Rodgers, Gary Moore, Joe Walsh and Brian May.
Both Marvin and Gilmour did in fact share the same stage as part of the all-star jam at the finale of the concert.

Ah Gilmour. The man can say more with one note than others can say with a 100.

Re: Axemen

Here's that final song from the Strat Pack concert on a rendition of "Stay With Me" led by Paul Rodgers on vocals. Come to think of it, for some reason Hank Marvin doesn't appear to be part of this song, so perhaps he and David Gilmour haven't actually ever shared a stage together after all.

Surprised that Eric Clapton did not appear on this occasion
being the famous Fender Strat man that he is.
