I don't know too much about Donald Trump Devo, except what I see in the news, but it strikes me that anyone who introduces a tariff on Chinese Steel to protect the American steel industry sounds like common sense to me. We should have done the same. Okay, it would make steel more expensive but when you consider the loss of employment of tax paying workers, not to mention the loss of skills that go with the decline of a specialised industry. Then there are the peripheral businesses providing services to the steel industry, such as small manufacturers and even shops.Re: Trump - President non grata?
The trouble with Trump is that he uses the US economic power in much the same way as a 1930s gangster used violence. He is just a latter day gangster boss, throwing his weight around, to satisfy whatever whim is preoccupying him today. He4 doesn't understand what it is to be a national leader, he does not understand politics and diplomacy, it is not enough to please his supporter base and no one else. it will end in tears for the US, the World will not put up with the moron forever. I suppose that is when he starts WW3.
