Even so, what about us Muddy? We're not protected are we.
I know we can't go aroundn worrying about everything and anything, but I still like to read other views on the subject from people other than vets who are selling the vaccines.

Does Mungo have the L2 or L4 vaccine?
I asked my vet if mine could have the L2 last time they were done, as I had read reports of the newer L4 causing bad reactions and even deaths.

Even so, I believe there are over 200 or so strains of this disease, but the vaccine only covers 4 of them.

When you get time, have a read of this info too:

This is also an interesting theory too:

Source Of Leptospirosis Human Infection

Once vaccinated, your dog can shed the Leptospira microbes, becoming a source of infection for you and your family.

Can cats get it too?
We have a lot of cats around here that wander all over the gardens.

BTW, possible Lepto is another reason I never, ever let my dogs drink from puddles and/or ponds.

I had L2 for Gertie, Muddy. He didn't agree with me, but got it for me all the same.
But that was about 3 years ago.

Re: The return of Ratus

Is there any way to find out if the rats in your garden etc have it? Do they look sickly, or does it not affect the rats?

The one I saw the other day positively gleamed with health.
And so it should do gobbling all my fat balls and premium bird food .

The ratty babies I saw were very healthy too. Shiney coated & bright eyes, rather scared looking when they saw me though.

Cats? Never mind cats or dogs. Humans can get it...
