Where should we go for christmas?

My wife and I are thinking of spending a week or two abroad this Christmas.

Any suggestions?

We are not keen on going to an ex-Soviet country - we've done most of them, and not terribly keen on what we saw.

We don't want to go as far-afield as Australia - I get very bored with L.O.N.G. flights. Say upto eight hours max.

Somewhere where the sun shines for most days, and the people are happy.

The person who comes up with an idea that we adopt will win a phantastical postcard from that place.

I read that wrong first time Hans, I thought you said "the first person who comes up with an idea we will adopt."

Re: Where should we go for christmas?

A good friend of mine asked this question of me some years ago and I said Benidorm.

He went, had a thoroughly enjoyable time and saw a show too.

Walks along the promenade in the evening, stopping off at a bar here and here and all you need is light jacket at best.

Lovely!

Ever since then we've wanted to try it and we may do so soon! stevmk2

Tenerife south, Costa Adeje area. Almost guaranteed sunshine and not too far away.

We have a week booked beginning of December and looking forward to some warmth.

Yep!

Been there - Guayarmina Princess Hotel in Adejé in September 2013 and we thought then it could be a contender for Christmas in the future.

Plenty of bars and restaurants and a nice promenade that goes right down to Los Christianos.

My daughter's partner's father and mother go every Christmas to an apartment block next door to the Guayarmina - real coincidence that 'cos we'd never talked about Hols! stevmk2
