First of all, many apologies for being so late with the story of Bobby & Monty. Both my wife and I are disabled and we have a disabled dog to take care of, Benny. He is very time consuming but is happy and eats like a horse.
However, Bobby & Monty.
We bought them from a rescue home 15 years ago, Thornberrys, near Sheffield. They were collected from a farm because the helpers at Thornberrys had heard that the farmer was going to shoot them. They were taken to the rescue centre to await someone to keep them as a pair because they were brothers.
I don't know why but they were given the nickname of, 'The Kray Twins'. They were a bit boisterous in their pen.
Well, we saw them and the attraction between ourselves and the dogs was immediate. We adopted both for the price of one and words cannot describe the pleasure we had from sharing our world with them. They were absolutely fabulous. Different characters but so friendly to one another.
You can see on the adoption papers that the names Ronnie and Reggie were used instead of Bobby and Monty. Do you think they have the Kray twins look in the photograph? Bobby, with the dark eyes, is on the left.
They are both now in doggy heaven and it has been difficult for us to look at their photos without being able to touch them.
I started putting captions to their photos and gradually it seems like they are back with us.
More stories and photos to follow if you feel you would like to see them.
