Re: Freedom of speech

Freedom of speech has been eroded by folks who have nothing to say. Folks who have something to say have been eroded by time, same result.

The same here. Ironically, it's these very people who refer to freedom of speech when they are trying to break taboos and to distribute their political views among people, thereby always testing the limits of what can be said. The interesting bit is: Should there be limits to free speech and if so where to draw a line?

Re: Freedom of speech

The ONLY limit should be the incitement to violence. No other.

Why? Are they having problems?
I also tried to join a thing called 'Gab' and had the same problem.

I should be content with only posting on here. This forum, thankfully, does not suffer from the problems that people seem to be finding on Facebook and Twitter.

Incidentally, I also found that the Daily Express has also begun to become more ready to ban posters for saying things which they don't agree with, whereas I have seen the same sort of posts made on the Telegraph site being quite acceptable.

There has been a lot of discussion recently about the loss of free speech in a number of places, and I find that worrying.

"Controlling" free speech will never be the same as silencing it. And I think that is what they are trying to do. The papers especially because they have profits to maintain.

I sincerely hope so.

As some publications and media become increasingly 'woke' and restrictive, others appear to replace them!

One example of the latter, which I am looking forward to seeing, is GB News.
