Hi

North wales Police deliberately ran over a dog.

Social Media is full of criticism.

What do you think?

'Nippy Jen' posted the article on our sister forum Dogsey and I can't bring myself to read it, the thought alone makes me want to retch

I despair at my species sometimes..
There must have been another way to deal with the incedent..

Bad decision.
Okay .. they were worried it might cause an accident and an officer got bit on the hand trying to catch it. (poor dog was probably frightened).
Even so. Still bad and heartless.

Re: Police deliberately run over dog

I can understand attempts had been made to catch the dog and it had bitten an officer which meant it was sentenced to death anyway.

The manner in which the dog was killed is awful and I dont even want to think about it... Yet again a case of human error costing an animal its life.

Better training better socialisation etc etc....

Might have saved humans and foxes lives by doing this, not under control so the owner should be prosecuted, and banned from keeping animals.

Hi

It was a Hunt dog, not a pet.

They are not very socialised animals.

The hunt let their dogs run all over the road here sometimes, very dangerous. I think the owners are to blame.

The dog could have caused a nasty accident if it had continued to run free. Human safety must always come before that of animals. I think the police did the right thing, apparently the owner of the dog also thinks so too.

Re: Police deliberately run over dog

Can't see why they (or a vet) couldn't have fired a sedative dart.
It annoys me when horses or cattle get on a road and they are killed by police too.
If any of these animals were owned by someone rich and famous, or like HRH perhaps, I bet they would have been sedated.
