Be much cheaper that way ?? And no disruption either!!
And when future governments realise the nonsensical approach of their predecessors, they can restore the gas supply!

Re: Fossil Fuel ending.

The way that the eco-elite talk, you would think that there is no end to electricity or "green power" plants.

there are darn few totally green power plants in existence : wind, hydro-electric, solar, and a few powered by tides. Those plants produce only a tiny fraction of todays needs. Tomorrow ???? Good heavens.

Nuclear power plants? Talk about driving ecologists crazy. WOW !

If you think that carbon based power (LPG) is expensive, just wait until you get a bill for heating your house with electricity. Any type of electricity.

Cost of heating and cooling houses will obviously increase but environmental costs will fall massively. That is the important factor. The days of cheap energy are coming to an end. Good.

I'm not getting a Beema. As for 'er, she got a Citroen hybrid thing in October. It's remarkably good fun to drive though a bit small for my taste (and frame!)

No sign of that, coal is about $58US a tonne, a few years ago it was over $110US a tonne. Australia has enough to export at the current rate for nearly 300 years.

Oil has been running out since the 1960s yet it is still less than $50US a barrel.

As for LNG we have enough for decades of exports, it is the flavour of the month fuel and can't be got out of the ground quick enough.

The problem is not supply, the problem is demand the lack of which is pushing prices down. It is old technology and new and cheaper forms of energy production are replacing them.
