Times I heard my father say back in his day , he could take mother on a night out with ten shillings and still have changes for fish and chips


The saying eat carrots can make you see at night ,come from propaganda films back in ww2 , when we got radar we were shooting down German bomber during their night raids , because we wanted to keep the invention of radar secret from Germany , the British shown propaganda films at the pics showing RAF pilots eating platefuls of carrots , saying it help the pilots to see in the dark
