Re: My Day

Hi

This morning was hard, very hard.

I was all over the place when I left and as a result left my mobile in the Taxi.

Rang the Taxi Firm, the driver is on an airport run, so will be hours before I know if it has been handed in.

Re: My Day

Hi Swimmy, You don’t need all this and l’m wondering if you don’t have your landline anymore to ring your mobile phone?
There are lots of honest people about so l hope it’s one of those that find your phone and hand it in.

...but wait.. how did you ring the Taxi firm?

When I get a PTSD episode, it is very real, a flashback so intense it comes complete with sounds and smells.

That is what your brain remembers.

The bodies natural defences kick in, the fight or flight responses, a surge of adrenaline etc.

You also breathe faster, to supply oxygen to your muscles.

You can hyperventilate and have a panic attack.

It was not easy, we had to hyperventilate and then learn how to consciously control your breathing to control your bodies reactions.

Practice is everything.

A long haul, but I have started.
Swim, I watched a programme on TV yesterday, where Steve Backshall was swimming in an underground lake & having to squeeze through very narrow passages. It tested him to his limit, but he was able to rise above the water in places &, as he had been told, slow his breathing down.
It sounds like you are learning how to so the same thing. Good luck!
