Yes I remember them well . I loved the seemed stockings .Now girls, do you remember the "hold up" stockings with elasticated tops ? Well if you do here's a funny story
I was about 20 and bought some hold up stockings, all dressed up in tight skirt and high heels i was walking to the dance on my own along a busy main road and bit by bit I could feel each stocking slowly rolling down my legs, I tried discreetly to roll them up on top of my straight skirt they kept rolling and rolling and yes eventually they ended up round my blooming ankles like dark socks with roll tops
OMG I'm still.humiliated 50 years on . How embarrassing, I had to pull them off and I had white legs too .
I cant write any more I need smelling salts

I remember my sister sitting in a bath of orange dye to colour her legs! I also recall dad was definitely not amused at the resulting stains on the enamel. I also remember both sisters drawing a pencil line up the back of their legs, though how they managed a straight line I've no idea.My husband reckons tights are the work of the devil and the biggest passion killer ever..
