Some people when working, are peripatetic and pushed for time - for example, when a CEO wanted to see me, it was
now and not in an hour (or day) or two when I've nipped back to the office .....
Hence, I ALWAYS wore one of several suit/shoe/shirt/tie combinations .....
But ..... I kept some "rough stuff" (for emergencies) in the car boot .....
