Re: Covid-19 Vaccinations

I had the AstraZeneca vaccine at our local GP's practice. I was told to sit in my car for 10 minutes before I drove off. I felt okay and waited a couple of minutes.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccinations

The 15min waiting time is just to make sure you don't have an immediate reaction to the OxAZ vaccine if you're driving (V had to wait because she was driving, I walked straight out - but had to wait in the car for her).

The Pfizer vaccine has been linked to anaphylactic shock in some recipients so, there's a definite need to sit and wait a while after having that one.

When my husband had his jab we were told that the 15 minutes wait was a government directive.
I think that is almost certainly the case. Going by the queue outside and the speed in which we were dealt with, I'm sure that there wouldn't have been space for us all to wait for 15 minutes.

Having mentioned that I had no untoward reactions to my vaccination yesterday, this morning I woke up with a headache and have felt tired all day.
No problem, though. I took a couple of paracetamol tablets and had another sleep earlier today. Fine now.

After ours, we were all told to wait in our cars in the car park for 15mins and if any reaction appeared in that time, stay in the car, sound the horn and one of the copious 'helpers' would come to us.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccinations

Mrs mart had the AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday. We arrived earlier than the appointment time but she was ushered straight in because there was no queue.

I expected to have to wait in the car for at least 20 minutes but she was out in half that time. They said there was no need for her to wait before leaving.

No ill-effects so far.

Oh lord Swimfeeders, that on top of everything else. How far along are you on your Covid journey? Hope you're not feeling too bad with it.

Paracetamol is exactly what they say you should take Paula, so I hope you are feeling much better soon.
I would think that all our bodies are working overtime to deal with producing antibodies, but I am hoping that is good & we can fight Covid better with the help of those antibodies.
To cheer yourself up, look how well Scotland are doing in the rugby!

Hi Paula sorry to hear you are not feeling great, my neighbour felt exactly the same and like me had the AZ vaccine.
Snuggle up under a duvet if you can until you feel better.
