Re: Do-it-yourself tests

Mups I am not sure how accurate these tests will be .

My previous tests were done by a doctor or nurse and always with the aid of a speculum to enable the collection of cells from deep inside the cervix not just a bit of a scrape with a cotton bud from the entrance to the cervix.

This is should an important test which can mean life or death to a woman, I think it is essential it is done properly.

Those were my thoughts exactly, Meg.

I can understand some women not wanting to have this procedure, it's not my idea of a fun day out either, but I can't help but doubt the accuracy of a DIY kit, used by untrained people.

It may well detect some problems, but do I wonder how many will be missed if the person has not done it properly.

Mups I have real doubts about the test . My niece was found to have pre cancerous cells high up in the cervix and was treated for them.
Would some home test have found these...

You know where they can stick that.
