Digital Art versus the Old Skilled Way

Anyone here do digital art?

Today, for a bit of fun, I scanned in some of my failed masterpeices, (scribbles done during lockdown and now artfully entombed in the back of the wardrobe) and then for fun whizzed one through an online image editor.

I'm pleased with the results as it makes rubbish look fairly presentable though I'm not sure it's a substitute for natural artistic talent.

Anyone else fiddle and cheat like me? Is it cheating?
I could never do an original like them.

Version 1.

Version 2

The original. (pretty crummy hey).

You know as long as its clearly presented as digital art I have no problem. Its when people use these kinds of effects and then put it on as a photo that I get a bit grrrr

I agree Cass. I think digital art, including digitally enhanced photos, has its place. There are some amazing effects out there and using them creatively still reflects the individuality and artistic ability of the creator. As long as they are presented as digital art/digitally enhanced, as you say.
