Re: I'm A Celebrity Gardeners?
No Twiz, it was sort of a creamy yellow colour with a weird reddish, but clear looking, sac and it was squirming, ugh - and it was as thick as a man's thumb! I got it on the trowel and threw it over the garden wall into the lane I just don't know what it was and there may be more, it's put me right off this gardening lark Vile thing.Re: I'm A Celebrity Gardeners?
Most likely it was a stag horn beetle larvae, they like to burrow & chomp their way through old rotten logs & make me retch on the occasions I have encountered one, usually theres a whole bunch of them.Re: I'm A Celebrity Gardeners?
Hi Karen it sounds just like a Cockchafer grub *shudders*Re: I'm A Celebrity Gardeners?
Sorry Karen but I've never seen the "I'm a Celebrity" thing so I don't know what a witchety grub is, but the beast that you found could be many things and remember not all grubs are harmful and some can be positively beneficial, so it's a shame you couldn't have photographed it for us..Re: I'm A Celebrity Gardeners?
