New clothes or I am happy to make do.

I was thinking to myself, over the last few week's I have become the proud owner of two cardigans, one sort of lined cardigan with a zip front and buttons, a lightweight walking style over jacket. Two pairs of trousers, one corduroy jacket (with a very nice lining) Two pairs of Dickie jeans, two pairs of braces. three pairs of sock's. Trousers came with belts. A jumper. Woolly hat.

Now considering I wake up in the morning and consider myself very lucky to have survived and expect that I will not be around long enough to wear the clothes out.

Should I have stayed faithful to those jeans that are frayed around the hem and that nice comfortable shirt that is showing signs of wear at the collar and cuffs. There again, now I have lost quite a bit of weight and looking better than I should, I did look good when meeting up with people last week, a cool dude.

So maybe it was worth the investment.

How do you feel about buying a new outfit. Perhaps a new suit, or just a new shirt, tie, blouse.

To me, buying any new clothes gives me a boost and makes me feel better in myself.

I'm glad you felt a "cool dude" in your new clothes last week, Adrian ...... that's the kind of boost I'm on about!

I think it is always worth buying something new to wear and throwing out the old stuff Adrian. As you said you did look good last week in your new gear. Something new to wear can lift the spirit which is great. Regards, Rena.

Only get new clothes when I have to. -Driven by cold or public decency, that is.
Clothes are boring. I`d rather buy a new book.

I like to buy some new clothes every now and then, I get fed up wearing the same stuff after a while, and the change makes me feel better. The wife does the selecting for me, I have no taste in choosing things to wear, she is much better at it.

I'm with Claire, not particularly turned on by new clothes: like the old comfortable well worn stuff.

New clothes! I am murder with new clothes.

I will buy something that I think I need only to find most of the items I buy sit in the wardrobe for about a year before finding their way to some charity.

I love my old clothes that I feel comfortable in and only wear new ones when my old ones are worn out.

I bought a suit, 30year ago, paid £120 for it and never wore it, after about 14 years it went to a charity unused.

I have a jersey in my drawer which my elder sister made for me as a birthday present for my 12th birthday - I'm now 62 and it still fits me.
