Pawel Adamowicz, the mayor for Gdansk in Poland was stabbed at a charity event on Sunday in front of hundreds of people. He has since died of his injuries. The attack was a particularly ferocious one, Pawel being stabbed multiple times.
The attacker as been named as Stefan (last name not released) and has a long criminal record including attacking a policeman and bank robbery. His excuse for the murder is that a party supported by Mr. Adamowicz was responsible for his wrongful imprisonment. A shocking thing to happen which has echoes of the murder of our own Jo Cox.
Isn't it sad the mayor was at a charity do for sick children.
It seems he was well beloved and had been mayor for 20 years
it's seems the whole of Gdansk is mourning him .
It was his funeral today I understand .
I will never be able to get my head around the mentality that brings a person to commit such hienus crimes
You can't even call it primal instincts because it's usually premeditated
