Re: Leeks! (and other annoying food shopping items)

Talking of multi-packs, I wanted a couple of cooking apples in Asda yesterday, but all they had were plastic bags full of SEVEN.

That may well be alright if you've got a family to feed, but it's too many for one person.

At last! That’s great! Annie.
I hope it didn’t have too much greenery at the top as it’s usually full of soil!

Art, you might know, but I work in vegetable processing and our customers only buy the florets of broccoli and cauliflower, leaving the big stalks behind

This is 3 of todays stalks

Broccoli and Stilton Soup

Absolutely lovely and of course, basically free of charge

how to stop a leek. Get a tap on the head and wear drain pipe trousers.

Surely, the most annoying supermarket 'vegetables' are 'ripe and ready to eat' avocados that are so hard I reckon you could play cricket with them. Is it a cunning plan to get them completely off the market?

Devo that is so true, really annoying especially when they then ripen really fast after a week and go all soft and brown when you are not paying attention.
