I do think tasers should be issued to trained police though, because there have been so many officers attacked, and even killed, recently. If we don't give them a facility to protect themselves, how many will decide the job isn't for them?
How can we have a safer country to live in, if nobody wants a job that reduces crime?

An hour with the lady I love is so very different.

What has that to do with arming police with tasers?

No matter how many extra police are recruited, No matter whether they are all armed, be it with death rays, machine guns, poison darts etc; crime will still be rife until those at the top make punishment fit the crime and tell those 'do gooding busy bodies' to go to Hell.

Spot on!

Let the punishment really worry the baddies.

1 year for assaulting a hospital worker.

3 years for being caught carrying a weapon.

5 years for assaulting a law enforcement officer.

No reductions - fixed punishments.

Hard Labour.

I won't disagree with you there our sentences do seem very much shorter than I would give people and nothing wrong with hard work. Prisons should be self financing they have enough hands to do the work and they could be made to grow their own food etc as well.
