Fire bowls

Are outdoor fire bowls popular in the UK?.I don't remember seeing them much when I was there. On a chilly night they are a joy. Here's my wife, Annie playing bubbles with our dog Tex tonight. I slow cooked Italian lamb shanks with lemon, potatoes and olives and we ate around the fire. As Crocodile Dundee says.." Wouldn't be dead for quids"

Re: Fire bowls

That looks so neat Keezoy.
In our summer evenings in the UK people tend to cook outdoors over a barbeque which won't keep going all evening. (Some wealthy friends of mine have proper purpose built brick or stone ovens in their gardens. Those you could keep lit and feel the warmth from for as long as you wanted)
Chimineas have become popular now to sit around after sunset too. Usually log burning but some don't throw out much heat I've noticed. Blankets and throws are often required!

Re: Fire bowls

Alternately there are wood burning fire pits on sale in garden centres now too
Which are wider and lower... more like your fire bowl size

Re: Fire bowls

We have a chimnea that we use quite regularly. Me and Mrs Bread sit there warming our feet drinking gin and tonics and talking and many summer and autumn evenings, its a great way to relax.

Re: Fire bowls

We prefer a chiminea we did look at fire bowls but the dangers to children and dogs was too great. Even with the chiminea we are extremely careful.

I guess any fire is potentially dangerous if you don't take care around it. We do.
