I think they are small adults, Muddy. It's probably a reference to all the little known work Diana did with midgets.

Admittedly it is easier to do a sculpture off a live model but Diana was so photographed there must have been any amount of reference photos .

This is my first sculpture ever using a live model

And it looks just like him

This is my second another live model

I was expecting something really great
Wonderful talent, sculptures are amazing, Muddy!

Re: Diana’s statue

Thank you Right Now but I have to say all the other people in the sculpture class did pretty good stuff too. Getting a likeness is ( to me ) so important That’s why I thought a renown sculptor like Ian Rank Broadly who did this would have done something really memorable .
He is a good sculptor this was just not one of his better works .

Re: Diana’s statue

Here are two beautiful stature by Luo Li Rong a woman sculptor .
Her work is so full of life I bet she could have done something more lyrical .

Still art is subjective one of my favourite sculptures ( the war horse memorial ) I have as my avatar .

Re: Diana’s statue

I don't think the face looks enough like her, and I also think the three children was a mistake.
I understand why they put three kids, but you can't even see them from the front anyway.
I think it spoils it.

However, if the Princes wanted it that way, who are we to dispute it?
Its their Mum, not ours.

I don't have a strong feeling about it but I think it looks OK.

Re: Diana’s statue

I can’t help thinking that Diana has been ill served in death as in life .
First they give a glorified ditch as a memorial ( when everyone really wanted a stature ) and now the long awaited stature has appeared it simply doesn’t do her justice .

They are great Muddy! You are very talented.

I only ever did a couple in Art classes at school and that was too many years ago. I do remember I enjoyed it though.

Re: Diana’s statue

Charles and Camilla with Noel Coward sculpture.

Different setting but in a familiar pose.

Having her seated with children by her side might not have been seen as suitable. A centre piece that dominates the garden that she enjoyed.

If her family approve nobody else's opinion matters.

A very natural relaxed photograph, which some may have been been expecting.
