Re: Diana’s statue

I see some of the papers have said the statue plus children ‘represent ‘all sort of woke aspects of Diana’s life .
Why does a statue have to represent any such thing ?
The entire world know of Diana.
Why couldn't it just unashamedly represent her .

Good point. Am sure there probably are some, but I'm struggling to remember any statues commemorating a person in the same way.

Re: Diana’s statue

Diana usually wore shorter skirts and had really slender legs and usually wore high heels to show them off. I can’t ever remember seeing her in frumpy shoes like these and the sculptor has made her legs look like mens.

Good point, you don't see a statue of Winston Churchill atop a pile of bodes or a bombed out building do you?

Perhaps in this context we should call them miniatures.

Didn't get round to commenting earlier Muddy, but your own works are mightily impressive.
We still get dwarf beans.

Thank you Dext
I just put them up as I thought that if I could do this at my first attempt how much better must be an experienced highly trained sculptor and it took him four years to do .
Was expecting much more

Re: Diana’s statue

Out of interest, does anyone know who commissioned and hence paid for the statue?
