Re: Classical

Wow! That is sad but I can sort off understand
I find the lack of a dream for the future more of an issue than memories of the past

Agree about Bruch though!

Me. However, my main interest is organ music: very much a minority following, at least in this country.

I must commiserate as I also have tinnitus. I have had it for as long as I remember, quite possibly through listening to Emerson, Lake and Palmer at loud volumes in my youth.

I'm surprised that after all these years, and the impressive advances that have been made over that time, they have been completely unable to come up with a cure.

Re: Classical

I struggle a little with Sibelius
I think you have to give him your full attention
No good listening in the car, has to be a proper session!
It is good to trying different things though
I have bought a double CD of his symphonies
Not sure when I will have time to listen to it all!

You're not alone!

I went to an organ recital in Passau Cathedral, and another in Cologne Cathedral - packed to the rafters in both cases. There must have been several thousands in each including, in the latter case, many who had brought camp chairs and sat in the aisles.

An organ recital in Britain: you'd be lucky to get a couple of hundred, and that's in a large cathedral.
