The connector block (XT60) never came from Ebay, it cost £1.99 plus the same in postage, so, got refund and went on Amazon, got 5 male and female connectors for £5.00 including free next day postage. the control box cables soldered quite successfully but, the battery cables are a thicker gauge cable and were not happy sitting in the groove of the 60amp connector so, I have ordered some XT90 connectors plus a new heavy duty soldering iron, the soldering gun has a habit of switching on and of and is tricky to use.The seat has arrived for the £37.00 mountain bike so, will be going for a maiden ride this afternoon.

Just been out on the Saracen, went of the development onto the main road working down the gears, got to the hill to the village Centre and the thumb lever does not make the upward gear selection so had to turn round and return to base, time for a bit of investigation.

Getting the chain to travel up and down all of the cogs can be tricky. Sometimes cable length and sometimes those little adjuster screws on the gear mechanism.My brother has a bike jig that makes the job easier. Turn the pedals and operate the gears with the bike the right way up and a good few feet up off the ground

This has got out of hand now, to connect the E bike battery up, I bought a soldering gun, and some XT60 connectors, was unsuccessful so I bought a soldering iron and some XT90 connectors, this was also unsuccessful so, shit or bust I have bought two pairs of XT60 connectors with pre attached pigtails (one pair with12 AWG tails for the battery cable and one pair with 14 AWG tails for the connection cable to the control unit) a pack of 10 yellow crimp connectors, and a pack of 10 blue crimp connectors, and a crimping tool, (just thought, I only needed a single male 12 AWG, and a single 14 AWG female silly me) so no more soldering for me. It would have been cheaper to post the first lot of components to Foxy and paid him £20.00 for soldering them.

Just been up the road on the Ebike, what an amazing sensation, no need to use the throttle when you pedal it takes over from you, when you stop peddling the assistance stops, it will take some time to get used to, and I will have to buy a cycle helmet before going on a long trek.|
