Tess, it took me years to build up the courage to snap complete strangers. Attitude is important, act like you have every right, then - if they catch you - look apologetic, and offer to delete should they not think it's OK. Sometimes I ask first, say I'm new to this game ... "

Sometimes I talk like a schoolboy, though I'm clearly a sad little OAP, with a new hobby. Go to places where there are others with cameras, avoid places where others are likely to have something to hide: dealing drugs or working on benefit.
Buskers are the easiest, and I always give them £1.
