Cordless Phone

Our twin cordless phone (BT Studio 1500) doesn’t work anymore. I am looking for a replacement and I wonder if anyone can advise me.

What we need is:

Answerphone capability
Easy to see dials etc.
User friendly instruction handbook

There is another would-like feature. The existing BT Studio has a deeply awkward way of setting the time. So we are used to being told that a message was left at a totally incorrect time and day. It would be nice to get that sorted too but if necessary we could just soldier on without it.

Re: Cordless Phone

I guess you already changed the rechargeable batteries in your existing phones Mr M. I know we had to do that in our last set.

We have a BT Concero 1400 which we're quite happy with, we have three handsets with that.

Is there an average 'lifespan' for cordless phones?

I tried to do that but the new ones wouldn't charge up. I tied twice with different battery makes. That was when I decided to go for a different phone.

I'll look into the Concero. Thanks.

Re: Cordless Phone

We charged our batteries up before we put them in the phone so they only had to be kept topped up. Don't know whether that helps.

Re: Cordless Phone

I bought this three phone set on special recently they were only about $65 (under 35 pounds) Seem to work ok, I like the fact that you can transfer the phone directory between them so you don't have to type it in three times. The answering machine works OK too all seems pretty well made - you can buy the single phone for under $20 (10 pounds) at the moment

They are available in the UK I pinched this photo from a UK site. I wouldn't buy from BT/Telstra the telephone companies always charge the highest price possible.

That sounds a good idea. But, how do you charge them before you put them in the phone? Would I need a special 'charger'?

Re: Cordless Phone

Yes Mr M you do need a special charger but it would mean you could also charge and use the batteries you have already bought, in other items requiring batteries.

Re: Cordless Phone

After having bought Uniden rubbish in the past, my next choice would also be Panasonic as far as cordless phones are concerned.

ps. I also have a phoneless cord, but they're no good for making calls.

Re: Cordless Phone

Take the Panasonic route every time. We have twin ones and never let us down, you can get them with an answerphone base unit that the phones fit into for recharging and docking.
Those in the Picture bruce posted would be ideal
