I go along with this quote:

He said: "That goes on everywhere, I don't think Jock, or Taff or Brummie or Scouser are pejorative terms, it's like when you call people 'guys' - it's a collective term and it just breaks things down."
Unless the use of any of these words is used with an offensive intent, and that is easy to determine by the way they are spoken, they should be taken as without intended offence.
The problem now, of course, is that it is trendy these days for some people to be 'offended' at the least little thing.
