My visiting SIL (from UK) refused to come back into the house until I removed a Hunstman Spider from her bedroom (they are basically harmless but big). I had to catch the damn thing and put it outside before she would come back inside.Personally I like them about because they don't build webs and they eat things like cockroaches etc.
