Sorry, I deleted them.
Perhaps Mags or Meg could delete the thread for me?

Re: Digital Art versus the Old Skilled Way

I thought the pictures were good ..both before and after.

There are some very good digital art pictures, not photo edits but pictures drawn line by line in programs that do that kind of thing. I have programs that do it but can't make them sing and dance like the people who use Xara Photo and Graphics Designer...

https://www.xara.com/us/gallery/

I think to be that good, you have to be artistic to start with ..plus have the inclination to convert the artistic talent to a digital format.

If not artistic, enjoyment can still be got out of using the programs by just experimenting with their capabilities. Some quite good geometric pictures and text effects can be made without needing to be artistic.

Also, I've seen pleasing pictures made by people who start with photos, add effects to them and then mix or blend them with background effects of their own making.

I think producing such images is a niche interest though. Maybe best to do them purely for your own enjoyment. If people think they are good, that's great but if not, they gave something interesting to do on the computer for a few hours/days.
