Re: 999 Ambulance.

I had a virus which made my throat burn up for 5 days my voice became just a whisper nothing stopped the burning. On the 5th night I was in bed and my throat started to close up and I couldn't breath in a panic I called 999 I could only croak and whisper my name and address . Told to open the front door I cant remember getting down the stairs and the ambulance arrived . The two young men calmed me and after looking into my throat I was told it was a good thing I'd had my tonsils out as a child as that was the opening that I was breathing through as my throat was so swollen. They didnt want to leave me at home but I didn't want to go to hospital so they rang a friend who came for the night .

I just panicked and I guess needed reassurance and after being given something to reduce the pain and swelling I settled for the night . Days later I was fine but it was very scarey alone

How frightening,Susan,...I wonder what caused the swelling?

I would hate to ever have to experience that, not being able to breath through your airways.

I hope you didn’t get kidney damage as a result of that blockage?

Re: 999 Ambulance.

Yes, a heart attack when driving at 70mph in the outside lane on a motorway!
Extremely worrying, as might be imagined!

However, I lived to tell this tale and would have been very annoyed had I not done so.

Also twice before that following motorcycle accidents, me versus cars and as usual I lost.
Not many lives left now, I reckon they are probably all used up!

Crikey,Baz, did you actually know you were having a heart attack?....down a motorway?....good grief!

You were also lucky that you survived those two motorcycle accidents, they usually end up fatal!.
