My bank put Trusteer Rapport on their online accounts and I had a lot of trouble with it so I got rid of it again.

Now another online account I have keeps asking me to download it too - it's getting annoying.

Shortly after I'd downloaded it my problems started.

I had my computer running very slowly, hanging applications etcetera - even a complete crash and Windows wouldn't load and I couldn't work out what was wrong but as soon as I uninstalled Rapport, everything was fine again.

Trusteer are obviously aware that such problems can occur as, during that uninstall, a message pops up saying

"If you're having issues with slow running then click here and our technicians can assist you"!!

I've had the same with Firefox too - apparently it's a common thing with Toshiba Satellite Pros but so is the Trusteer! stevmk2

I had problems with it last year ST, every time i opened an Internet connection it was downloading 120MB of data quickly swallowing my available monthly allowance.

That said it had worked well, probably just a problem with the new version. Ive tried most of the free versions over the years, and all occasionally have their moments. I think Avast still is considered one of the better free pro grammes..

I've just changed from MSE which is a bit of a lightweight to AVG which scores highly on many of the free testing anti virus sites

Just revisiting this thread - has the threat of mangling our bank accounts faded, can I breathe out now?
