Re: Oil painting

Hi there Lyn, I'll post one of mine up if you do too and if I can work out how to do it
I love your watercolours Claire and yes, that's a great idea about having our very own Art Gallery here.

Edit: Afraid I can't upload a pic, I'm used to the browse button and haven't a clue how to find the url of my paintings....

Claire, the paintings are just beautiful.

strawberry, upload your pictures to photobucket and they will give you the (IMG) code when you slide your mouse over the picture and then click on that.

Re: Oil painting

Hello Strawberry, I used to paint 52 years ago in my last year at secondary school.

I won a special award after representing my school in an inter-school competition in Glasgow's Kelvin Art Gallery, . . alas, I gave up the artists brushes for larger ones and became a professional painter and decorator after leaving school.

what an interesting thread. I've only just found it.

and what lovely paintings. They're very good. Are they oil?

I've never tried oils and find water colour ...too watery ...but once I tried acrylic that was it I was hooked.

acrylic with ink or with oil pastel is my thing.
I've no finesse though ... I just daub it on with an old shaving brush or sponge.
