At primary school they used to give the naughty kids jobs as monitors to keep them out of mischief and give them some responsibility.
Sometimes ex offenders, like computer hackers are given responsibility for keeping things safe, they know what to look for.
Just saying, a bit of reverse psychology can work sometimes.
