Back support belts

Im thinking of buying a back support belt but not sure if there a bad thing or not. Have any of you ever used one or indeed wearing one now?

Re: Back support belts

Hi Doc
I have one of these back support belts,It does work well but it needs to fit tight to support you..I use it when my back has been bad I have lower back pain and find its good for this.
They are quite expensive but worth it if they work for you.,and you can get along with it.
Pity I could let you borrow mine and see if it helps you ..

Re: Back support belts

The elastic ones with velcro fasteners are good for bad backs.

Re: Back support belts

I have three back braces for lumbar support as I'm frequently troubled by back pain. If you are buying one, may I suggest you don't buy a cheap one - as the saying goes "You get what you pay for". Flimsy ones don't give you enough support - the ones I have are slightly bulky but they help to give me the relief I require.

Re: Back support belts

No doubt back support belts are a good thing. They hold your back disk in place when picking up heavy items. There are two types of belts. The regular belt and then there is the belt with the shoulder straps included. Which means you can undue the belt and have it hang from the shoulder when not in use.

Mine have metal stays at the back to give compression as well as support.
