I have to disagree, albeit with a subtle distinction. No government wants to be seen to bring down the NHS as it would be political suicide. But I believe that most politicians realise that the NHS is unaffordable and therefore unsustainable and would love to find a way to dismantle it without taking the blame.

Re: Junior Doctors strike.....

It would appear that the evidence used by Jeremy Hunt to justify his demand for 7-day working of the junior doctors is now in serious doubt by Jeremy's own officials.

The BMA have indicated three more 48 hour strikes - I will be joining the doctors at my local hospital on the picket line, who else will also do so???

Re: Junior Doctors strike.....

Seems some of Jeremy's own civil servants are in sympathy with the junior doctors and calling on him to apologise to them.

Re: Junior Doctors strike.....

At least if UJ needs urgent medical assistance while on the picket lines there will a plethora of medics

A bit tough on the people who are in hospital needing operations that have been cancelled .

This is about pay not patient welfare .
They want more pay to work at weekends as if they are the only sector of society to do so.

Re: Junior Doctors strike.....

You don't seem to realise that they are cutting their pay. Would you like to do more hours for less pay?
