Something for the EU to Consider

So far the UK has offered the EU a basic, Canada style free trade arrangement and in return the EU has agreed to it providing we sign what is basically, the Lisbon treaty (try not to laugh).

Because the UK has now left the EU it is treated statistically as an independent country and conversely, the EU can no longer include UK figures in its own statistics to make it "look good".

So here we are... and oh my, is it an eye opener.

Enjoy ...

So, by those figures, the EU really do need us more than we need them as we import far more than we export.

Exactly, Judd just like we have been saying all along

Look at how sharply those numbers roll off ... the EU just don't get it.

Your export to the EU is more than double the amount you export to the usa and china combined. So the EU is more important to the UK than usa and china together.

You buy these goods in the EU because you can't produce them yourselves (otherwise you wouldn't buy them). In other words, you need them.

So your conclusion is not substantiated by the facts

One of those reasons is because the UK has been bound by the customs union which is probably why you wrote your response that way (although I question the figures).

Leaving the EU and the customs union was to break this dependency by enabling the UK to be a global trading nation free from the protectionism of the EU customs union and single market (one of the reasons that delivered Brexit...)

We start our trade negotiations with the rest of the world in parallel with the EU negotiations for this reason - to maximise the potential of our exports and imports with the whole world, not just limiting them to the EU 27 and being constrained by EU rules, regulations and bureaucracy.

Pray, tell us what these products are and I'll bet you a £1 to 1p that we could probably buy them from elsewhere on this earth.

Hi

A No Deal means that the EU will be subject to Tariffs on it's third biggest Market.

A No Deal means that the UK will be subject to Tariffs on it's biggest
Market.

Simple Maths.

They will not come running, they have the advantage.

It is to nobodies advantage not to have a Free Trade Agreement.

There will be concessions on both sides.

If I was a UK manufacturer or importer I would be either investing in new tooling or looking to source from UK .

Good times for British producers on the horizon!

Hi

I have no doubt that they are.

The decisions will be made by the Bean Counters.

Most of our Manufacturing is owned by Foreign Companies, they have no interest in the UK other than the profit/loss margin.

Everything will be decided at the 11th hour yet again, do not pay much attention to all the continued hyperbole.
