His first appearance on TV. Still has his blankety blank cheque book and pen.

"Reaching 100 is quite something. Reaching 100 with such interest in me and huge generosity from the public is very overwhelming," he said.

"People keep saying what I have done is remarkable, however it's actually what you have done for me which is remarkable.

"Please always remember, tomorrow will be a good day."

It has been well televised here in the states. We welcome this kind of good news story. No matter if the queen honors him or not, his intentions were humble, dedicated and he followed through.

I admire him and the choices he made.

Indeed! Well done Captain (Colonel)

Now we just need the money to go towards something useful rather than disappearing into the void or into the pockets of the wrong people.

Re: Army veteran charity walk for NHS

He is to publish two books in support of new charity.

The Captain Tom Foundation, to help combat loneliness, support hospices and help those facing bereavement.
One an autobiography, Tomorrow Will Be A Good Day and a
children’s picture book.

His autobiography, to be published on September 17, will tell of his time on the battlefields of Burma in the Second World War.

Children’s picture book, to be published on October 1 by Puffin, will follow key moments from his life.

“I am so looking forward to sharing my autobiography with you which will help launch my new foundation… I’d better get writing!”
On a roll.

I am sure there will be many others, including myself, expressing those same sentiments. For all who are wondering where those £ millions went, below is the link to a news item giving details of some of the recipients:

"More than £20m raised by Captain Tom Moore has been handed out to NHS charities across the country.

Each charity has been given £35,000 from the £32.8m fund and a second grant based on the size of the trust they serve, said NHS Charities Together.

The charity at the hospital where Capt Tom was treated for a broken hip and skin cancer received £122,500.

NHS Charities Together said the donations were "already having a huge impact and will continue to do so"."
