Ear muffs do not work as the messages are in your head, not through your ears. Even shutting your eyes & pretending the yummy things aren't there doesn't work either.

I am sorely tempted by the sublime messages of eat me as I pass by the chocky and goody aisle. But I have a secret weapon that helps me resist. It is the sirens sweet song of Diabetes. Otherwise I would wolf those things down.

That means the torture (of not eating) lasts longer than the enjoyment.
