Fashion

Which era of fashion did you love the most?

For me it was the 60s. Mary Quant styles were very prolific back then, and I loved the clothes of the 60s. Mini skirts, hot pants, tall white boots, the shoes.

Which was your favourite era?

Re: Fashion

As I used to be a Teddy boy I suppose it has to be the Edwardian fashion
Never really been fashion concious since my early days so I nevr bother only to say that I love seeing ladies in dresses not pants.

Re: Fashion

I like my own era of fashion which never changes. T shirt and trousers most of the time, no makeup, just clean, comfortable and tidy. Very occasionally I have to make the effort to dress up, and then I will wear what is appropriate for the occasion. The last time I had to look the works was in 2005 for my father's funeral as I was the chief mourner, he had been a senior politician in his time and attracted a large gathering. I doubt I will even make it to my mother's funeral unless she turns up her toes when it is convenient for me to fly out.

Re: Fashion

I liked the late 60's and early 70's - the flower power era, but I also liked most of the 60's fashion and a bit of the late 50's. I was never keen on the white plastic boots that went with the mini skirts - I'm a sandals type of person.

Re: Fashion

I absolutely hate "dressing up". Winter jeans and sweaters, summer strappy dresses or cut off jeans and strappy tops. Loved the mini skirt era although dresses and skirts were mostly knee length on me, I'm not a tall person.

Flower power fashion for me. And I'm still an old hippy at heart.

Me too mesco m I am so glad I was young during that time - I think the era we experience and live through when younger and in our prime has quite an effect on our attitude and perception as we age.

Re: Fashion

Even as a teenager in the 60s I had no interest in fashion, although I did buy a psychedelic shirt once as I knew it would wind up my mother, which it did most successfully!

Re: Fashion

I am firmly stuck in the 60's/70s , I loved Laura Ashley's long flowery dresses

I still wear long skirts most of the time now and have a good supply of denim ones.
